Tommy Thiel joins 1. FC Union Berlin
Tommy Thiel has joined 1. FC Union Berlin as Senior Sales Manager after six years at Infront Germany. He started at Infront in 2019 as Team Lead Marketing for SV Sandhausen before moving to Berlin in 2022 to help establish a new office and expand partnerships beyond sports. During his time in the capital, he worked on sports sponsorship deals in basketball and the NFL’s expansion in the DACH region. Notably, he played a key role in securing Schindler Deutschland as the main and jersey sponsor for ALBA BERLIN. At Union Berlin, he now looks forward to contributing to the club’s commercial success.
Marco Stark joins FC Bayern München
Marco Stark has joined FC Bayern München as Partnership Sales Manager | Global Partnerships. He moves from FK Austria Wien, where he spent over three and a half years working in sponsorship and sales. During his time at Austria, he played a key role in developing partnerships and managing sponsor relationships. At Bayern, he will focus on expanding and managing global partnerships, bringing his experience in commercial operations to the role.
Christina Kenny joins FAI
Christina Kenny has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI). She brings experience from various sectors, having previously held leadership roles at SocialTalent and Taoglas. Additionally, she served as an independent committee member at the FAI for over four years. In her new role, she will oversee the FAI’s day-to-day operations and support the organization’s strategic development. Reporting directly to the CEO, she will also play a key role in shaping and executing the FAI’s growth strategy across all levels of football in Ireland.
Russell Green leaves Tottenham Hotspur and joins YinzCam
Russell Green has left Tottenham Hotspur to become Vice President at YinzCam. He brings over 15 years of experience in digital, having worked at Spurs, the Football Association (FA), and BMW Group UK. Based in London, he will lead YinzCam’s growth and customer success in the UK and Europe while overseeing the opening of the company’s new UK office. His focus will be on expanding YinzCam’s global footprint and strengthening partnerships with teams, leagues, events, and venues.
Ramona Lo Russo-Pavlik joins SC Austria Lustenau
Ramona Lo Russo-Pavlik has joined SC Austria Lustenau as Head of Sponsoring & Sales to strengthen the club’s commercial department. She brings over a decade of experience in the media industry, having worked as a Managing Director and in key account management. Most recently, she was a Sales & Project Manager at Russmedia in Schwarzach. At Austria Lustenau, she will focus on expanding partnerships and implementing new advertising opportunities.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen appoints Tobias Schmidt
Bayer 04 Leverkusen has named Tobias Schmidt as Head of Internationalization, starting on March 1, 2025. In this role, he will further develop the club’s international market strategy and expand activities in key target markets. Schmidt brings extensive experience in football management, having held leadership positions at 1. FC Köln, FC Schalke 04, and RB Leipzig, where he was most recently Head of International Communications. He also has a strong background in digital sports communication from his time at X (formerly Twitter) and Digital Sports.
