Weekly Careers Update #50/2025

From Mexico to London, this week’s edition of the FBIN Weekly Careers Update highlights a broad range of moves across the football industry. With new roles in executive leadership, marketing, media and commercial partnerships, the list features appointments at clubs in LaLiga, the Premier League, MLS, Serie A, the NWSL and more, as well as roles at league and confederation level.

Luis Arregui Jurado to leave C.A. Osasuna
After four years with his hometown club, Luis Arregui Jurado has announced his departure from C.A. Osasuna. Most recently serving as Commercial Director, he previously led international business development and marketing at the club. Before joining Osasuna, he held roles at Real Madrid CF, KPMG España and the Universidad de Navarra. After a short break over the holidays, he looks ahead to a new challenge.

Tatjana Haenni joins RB Leipzig as CEO
Tatjana Haenni has been appointed CEO of RB Leipzig, starting in January 2026. She joins from the NWSL, where she served as Chief Sporting Director, and brings extensive leadership experience from roles at FIFA, the Swiss FA and in consultancy.

Aleksandra Kalinowska departs Legia Warsaw
Aleksandra Kalinowska will leave her role as Director of Communication and Marketing at Legia Warsaw at the end of January 2026. She joined the club in 2022 and stepped into her current position in late 2023.

Klaudia Bodecka leaves Legia Warsaw
Klaudia Bodecka is also set to depart Legia Warsaw, where she worked as Social Media Marketing Specialist for the past four years. She is reportedly joining the editorial team at TVP Sport.

David Timms leaves Chelsea FC after 15 years
After over a decade at Stamford Bridge, David Timms has departed Chelsea FC, where he most recently served as Senior Manager, Venue & Hospitality Business Development. Over the course of 15 years, he held five roles across three departments, contributing significantly to the club’s commercial and hospitality growth. He now looks ahead to a new chapter in 2026.

Kristina Richter joins 1. FC Magdeburg as Head of Media & Communications
Kristina Richter has been appointed Head of Media & Communications and Press Spokesperson at 1. FC Magdeburg, effective January 2026. She joins from FC Ingolstadt 04, where she spent the past five years, most recently serving as Press Spokesperson. A trained journalist with a background in media and communication studies, Richter also brings experience from radio and event roles at the Allianz Arena.

Silvia Rico Martínez promoted to Marketing Director at C.F. Monterrey
Silvia Rico Martínez has been appointed Marketing Director at Club de Futbol Monterrey. She has been with the club for over 16 years, previously serving as Marketing Manager and more recently as Planning Manager. Her promotion highlights Monterrey’s commitment to internal development and strengthening its marketing and communication strategies.

Alex Stedman joins Crystal Palace FC as Content Team Lead
Alex Stedman has started a new role as Content Team Lead at Crystal Palace FC. He moves to Selhurst Park after a short stint as Content Planning Manager at Brentford FC and previous roles at Chelsea and Brighton, where he gained extensive experience in social media, content strategy, and digital campaigns.

Stefano Melis becomes CEO of Cagliari Calcio
Stefano Melis has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and board member at Cagliari Calcio. He steps into the role after nearly two years in senior leadership positions at the club, including General Manager and Managing Director for Business & Media. Prior to joining Cagliari, he held executive roles at Fluorsid, Nike, Vans, and Puma, bringing broad international experience to his new position.

Hampus Frisén named CEO of Djurgårdens IF Fotboll
After three and a half years with Sport Republic—where he most recently served as Head of Investments—Hampus Frisén has taken on a new role as Chief Executive Officer of Djurgårdens IF Fotboll. A long-time board member across multiple clubs including FC Mali Coura and Valenciennes FC, Frisén now steps into his dream job at the club he’s supported since childhood.

Bas Tolenaars leaves AFC Ajax
After more than a decade at AFC Ajax, Bas Tolenaars has left the club, where he most recently worked as Social Media Specialist. Since joining in 2015 as an intern, he held various roles within the Ajax Media team, contributing to the club’s digital and social media presence over the years. He now looks ahead to new priorities beyond football.

Daniel Bergström to leave Djurgårdens IF Fotboll
Daniel Bergström will depart Djurgårdens IF Fotboll in mid-January after close to seven years at the club, where he has served as Chief Marketing Officer since 2018. A seasoned brand and creative expert, he now returns to the outdoor industry and will join Fjällräven as Global Creative Director, Marketing in February 2026.

James Dignam promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Bohemian FC
James Dignam has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at Bohemian FC, stepping into the role in December 2025. He has been with the club since 2021, previously serving as Operations Manager and Head of Operations, and now takes on greater responsibility.

Ella Ellis joins Charlton Athletic as Commercial Partnerships Manager
Ella Ellis has joined Charlton Athletic FC as Commercial Partnerships Manager. She returns to the football industry in a commercial role, having previously worked with the Natural History Museum, Monterosa, and Plymouth Argyle FC.
