This week’s FBIN Weekly Careers Update features 15 appointments and departures across commercial, marketing, finance, operations and executive leadership. The latest moves take place at clubs and federations across England, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark.

Ryan Norys to leave Tottenham Hotspur for MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group
Ryan Norys will leave Tottenham Hotspur to join MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group as Chief Commercial Officer. He joined Tottenham in 2022 and has served as Chief Revenue Officer since February 2024. Norys previously held senior commercial roles at AS Roma, Manchester City and the Miami Dolphins.

Friederike Mattheus joins 1. FC Nürnberg
Friederike Mattheus has joined 1. FC Nürnberg as Manager Partnerships. She previously spent more than three years in digital communications, working across social media, content and influencer campaigns. Her earlier experience also includes influencer marketing.

Jonathon Ogle returns to Ipswich Town FC
Jonathon Ogle has returned to Ipswich Town FC as App & Digital Marketing Manager. He previously spent more than six years at the club, progressing from Club Journalist to Digital Media Editor and Media Manager. Ogle joins from Chelsea FC, where he worked as Senior App Editor for nine years.

Pietro Palladino joins Gillingham FC
Pietro Palladino has joined Gillingham FC as Head of Commercial. He moves from sports marketing company 54, where he spent almost two years as Commercial Manager. Before that, he spent nearly a decade in the commercial department at AFC Wimbledon.

Sophie Harding promoted at Gillingham FC
Sophie Harding has been promoted to Director of Operations at Gillingham FC. She previously served as the club’s Head of Revenue, overseeing growth in areas including retail and conference and events. Harding has held several commercial roles at Gillingham, including Commercial Manager and Hospitality and Events Sales Manager.

Andreas Böni joins FC Basel
Andreas Böni will join FC Basel as Managing Director of FC Basel Holding AG and Chief Communications & Club Media Officer, starting no later than April 2027. He moves from blue Sport, where he has been Editor-in-Chief since 2023. Böni previously served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Blick Sport.

Thom Burt leaves Nottingham Forest for Indianapolis Colts
Thom Burt has left Nottingham Forest after 18 months as CRM & Digital Marketing Manager, a period that included the club’s run to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals. He has joined the Indianapolis Colts as Director of International. Burt previously worked as Digital Innovation Coordinator at Club Brugge.

Michiel Ameloot joins Royal Belgian Football Association
Michiel Ameloot has joined the Royal Belgian Football Association as Business & Operations Director. He moves from DPG Media, where he spent more than seven years as Chief Editor Sports. Ameloot previously served as Head of Sport at VTM Nieuws.

Christopher Burton joins Stevenage FC
Christopher Burton has joined Stevenage FC as Head of Media & Marketing. He moves from Newmarket Racecourses, where he spent more than four years as Marketing Manager. Burton spent 13 years in total with Newmarket Racecourses and The Jockey Club.

Floriane Scianguetta leaves Standard de Liège
Floriane Scianguetta has left Standard de Liège after 12 seasons at the club, most recently as Commercial Director. She joined Standard as a marketing intern and later served as Partnership Manager and Head of Partnerships. Scianguetta is now open to new opportunities.

Joseph Nelson joins Liverpool FC
Joseph Nelson has joined Liverpool FC as Senior Social Media Specialist. He moves from Salford City FC, where he was Social Media Lead. Nelson previously worked freelance for Manchester United as Social Media Editor and Journalist, and has also written for BBC Sport and Newcastle United.

Thomas Bonser joins Aston Villa
Thomas Bonser has joined Aston Villa as Finance Director. He moves from Fulham FC, where he served as Chief Financial Officer. Bonser previously spent four years as Chief Financial Officer at Nottingham Forest and held finance roles at Wasps Rugby and Derby County.

Vincent Mannaert promoted at RBFA
Vincent Mannaert has been appointed CEO of the Royal Belgian Football Association for a four-year term. He previously served as the federation’s Sports Director. Pierre Locht will succeed him as Sports Director.

Kelvin Stanford joins Sheffield Wednesday
Kelvin Stanford has been appointed Head of Operations at Sheffield Wednesday. He joined the club in August as Mobilisation Manager, leading the mobilisation of the food and beverage operation across Hillsborough. Stanford previously served as General Manager of Newark Golf Club.

Thomas Skov leaves Brøndby IF
Thomas Skov has left Brøndby IF after almost 13 years at the club, most recently as Director of Marketing and Fan Experience. During his time at Brøndby, he played a key role in developing the matchday experience at Brøndby Stadion, including the club’s permanent fan zones. Skov previously worked as Marketing Manager at Nike Denmark.
