Weekly Careers Update #11/2025

Big career moves are shaping the football industry this week! Drogheda United FC, Esbjerg fB, and OL Féminin welcome new leadership, while London Stadium strengthens its commercial team. Meanwhile, Larne FC sees a leadership transition as its former CEO moves into a non-executive role.

Rían Wogan joins Drogheda United FC
Rían Wogan has been appointed CEO of Drogheda United FC. He takes on the role after more than four years as Commercial Partnership Manager at Shamrock Rovers FC, where he developed and managed strategic partnerships with local and national businesses. Wogan also brings coaching experience, having previously worked as Head Coach of Drogheda United U17s. With a strong background in both the commercial and sporting sides of football, he now steps into a leadership role to drive Drogheda United FC’s growth and development.

John Hessing leaves Tottenham Hotspur and joins London Stadium
John Hessing has left Tottenham Hotspur after nearly a decade to join London Stadium in Partnership Development. At Spurs, he played a key role in partnership development, contributing to major milestones such as the transition from White Hart Lane, record-breaking events at Wembley, and the opening of the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Now, at London Stadium, he will focus on building brand partnerships for the venue as it continues to grow as a hub for sports, entertainment, and culture.

Allan L. Agerholm joins Esbjerg fB
Allan L. Agerholm has been appointed as the new CEO of Esbjerg fB, effective March 1, 2025. Agerholm brings extensive experience from the hospitality industry, notably serving seven years as CEO of BC Hospitality Group, overseeing operations at Bella Center and AC Bella Sky Hotel in Copenhagen. He also served nearly three years as Chairman of the Board at Parken Sport & Entertainment, the parent company of FC Copenhagen. In his new role, Agerholm aims to strengthen the club’s business operations and build on its proud traditions.

Olivier Jaubert joins OL Féminin
Olivier Jaubert has been appointed Chief Business Officer of OL Féminin. He brings extensive experience in sports business, having spent nearly 20 years at Nike in strategic roles before becoming Sales and Marketing Director at the French Professional Football League in 2017. In 2020, he joined Toulouse FC as General Manager, where he led the club to significant commercial and marketing successes. At OL Féminin, Jaubert will oversee revenue-generating activities, including sales, marketing, merchandising, and ticketing strategies, as the club looks to strengthen its economic model and expand its market presence.

Niall Curneen transitions to non-executive role at Larne FC
Niall Curneen has stepped down as CEO of Larne FC but will remain involved with the club as a non-executive director. He first joined Larne in 2018 as Youth Development Officer before becoming General Manager a year later and later transitioning into the CEO role. Over the years, he played a key role in the club’s development and will continue contributing as part of the Board of Directors. Curneen expressed gratitude for the support he received and looks forward to helping drive the club’s future success in his new capacity.
