Weekly Careers Update #38/2025

This week’s career moves in football business include senior appointments, promotions, and departures across clubs in Europe, the Middle East and North America. Updates feature changes at Arsenal, Juventus and West Bromwich Albion as well as new roles in Austria, Armenia and the United States.

Andrew Nestor appointed President of West Bromwich Albion
Andrew Nestor has been appointed President of West Bromwich Albion, adding to his responsibilities as Sporting Director. Nestor has built a long career in sport, notably as founder and former CEO of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, where he oversaw the club’s revival and 2012 league title, and as a board director at Bologna FC 1909 during the club’s return to Serie A. He is also co-founder and managing partner at Cerro Capital, an investment firm focused on sports and media.

Jakob Stejskal takes on new role at SK Rapid
Jakob Stejskal has taken on the position of Executive Assistant to the Management at SK Rapid. He has been with the club for more than four years, most recently working in the Sponsoring department. Stejskal previously gained experience in event and sports management roles, including positions with the UCI Road World Championships and Profs Marketing.

John Martin appointed Director of Football at the FAI
The Football Association of Ireland has appointed John Martin as its new Director of Football. Martin spent more than 19 years with Irish Life before joining Shamrock Rovers, where he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer.

Richard Garlick promoted to CEO at Arsenal FC
Richard Garlick has been named Chief Executive Officer of Arsenal FC. He joined the club in 2021 as Director of Football Operations before becoming Managing Director in 2024. Prior to Arsenal, Garlick was Director of Football at the Premier League and Director of Football Administration at West Bromwich Albion.

Sarah Richards starts new role at Hull City
Sarah Richards has taken on the position of HR Advisor at Hull City. She has been with the club since 2023, previously serving as HR & Safeguarding Administrator. Earlier in her career, she worked in HR support at The Marvell College.

Lusine Harutyunyan joins Sardarapat FC
Lusine Harutyunyan has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer at Sardarapat Football Club. She previously spent nearly six years with FC Urartu, most recently as Deputy General Director for PR, Marketing and Information after starting as Press Secretary.

Alexandre Zodmi takes on expanded role at Juventus FC
Alexandre Zodmi has been appointed Director of Global Partnerships & Commercial Development at Juventus FC. He has been with the club since 2022, most recently serving as Head of Global Partnerships Sales & Academies. Prior to joining Juventus, Zodmi worked in senior sponsorship roles at Paris Saint-Germain and Infront Sports & Media.

Tania Moreno joins Arizona Cardinals as Senior Vice President of Marketing
Tania Moreno has been appointed Senior Vice President of Marketing at the Arizona Cardinals. She previously served as Chief Marketing Officer at AC Milan, where she was the club’s first-ever CMO, and earlier held senior marketing roles with the Arizona Coyotes and PetSmart.

Marcus Mellor joins Newcastle United
Marcus Mellor has taken on the role of Senior Partnership Development Lead at Newcastle United. He previously worked in senior commercial and partnerships positions at Nottingham Forest, Burnley FC, and Social Chain, following earlier roles with The Energy Check.
