A new week brings a fresh set of executive shifts across the football industry — from CEO appointments in the Premier League to commercial hires in Sweden and Italy. This edition highlights ten moves across clubs and organisations, reflecting the continued evolution of football’s off-pitch leadership.

Dominik Kupilas takes on expanded leadership role at Werder Bremen
Dominik Kupilas has taken over responsibility for Werder Bremen’s entire B2C operations under the title Head of Club-to-Fan & Global Business Development. In this new role, he continues to report directly to CEO Klaus Filbry and remains part of the club’s senior leadership team. Kupilas has been with Werder for over 17 years, most recently serving as Head of Fan & Business Development.

Michael Jost promoted at VfL Bochum
Michael Jost has taken on a new role as Head of Commercial at VfL Bochum 1848. He has been with the club since 2019, most recently serving as Deputy Head of Sales. Before returning to VfL, he was Managing Director at Ballsportdirekt Dortmund, part of the 11teamsports Group.

Andrea Previati joins Como 1907
Andrea Previati has taken on a new role at Como 1907, stepping into the position of Strategic Revenue Manager with a focus on Sport and Esports. He arrives after more than seven years at Juventus FC, where he most recently served as Media Network Manager and previously worked across brand engagement and communications. His career also includes experience with Relevent Sports Group in New York, where he supported the International Champions Cup, and earlier roles in marketing and communications across the sports sector.

Linda Carlsson and Anna Hörnell join BK Häcken
BK Häcken have expanded their commercial team with the addition of Linda Carlsson and Anna Hörnell, both stepping into new Key Account Manager roles at the club.
Carlsson joins from Conaxess Trade Sweden and brings broad experience in key account management and B2B sales. At BK Häcken, she will focus on partnerships and sales for major events including Gothia Cup and Partille World Cup.
Hörnell most recently worked at Hedin Automotive Sverige and has held a number of sales-focused roles across various industries. In her new position, she will be working on partnerships and sales directly for BK Häcken.

Filip Labuda takes on new responsibilities at Slezský FC Opava
Following more than five years at the club, Filip Labuda has been appointed Executive Director at Slezský FC Opava. He previously held the role of Marketing Director and will continue to oversee the marketing area in his new position. Labuda has been part of the club’s leadership since 2020.

David Hopkinson joins Newcastle United
David Hopkinson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at Newcastle United. He most recently served as President and COO at Madison Square Garden Sports, and held senior roles at Real Madrid and MLSE. Hopkinson brings decades of global sports leadership experience to Tyneside.

Gadir Hasanov leaves Neftçi PFK after 15 years
Gadir Hasanov has departed Neftçi PFK, closing out a 15-year tenure at the Azerbaijani club. He most recently worked as a manager, having held various roles across team administration and international relations.

Sharon Lacey appointed CEO of Crystal Palace FC
Sharon Lacey has taken over as Chief Executive Officer at Crystal Palace FC, stepping into the role in September. She has been with the club since 2010, previously serving as Chief Operating Officer and Director of Operations. Most recently, she was also CEO at Fort Lauderdale United FC.

Ryan Davey takes on international sales role at SENT/Como 1907
Ryan Davey has joined SENT Entertainment and Como 1907 as International Sales Executive, supporting the club’s international academy and sales initiatives. He will focus on promoting the Elite Performance and Discovery Camps, which take place at Como 1907’s facilities in Italy. Davey was previously part of the commercial team at Soccerex.

Ronan Joyce joins Salford City FC as Chief Business Officer
Salford City FC have appointed Ronan Joyce as their new Chief Business Officer. Joyce most recently led digital innovation at Manchester United and previously spent over eight years at Meta in sports partnerships. In his new role, he will oversee all commercial functions at the club, supporting its ambition to become “the best small club in the world.”
