Georg Hochedlinger joins TSV 1860 Munich
Georg Hochedlinger has taken on the role of Director Marketing & Sales at TSV 1860 Munich. He had already been leading the department since February 2024 and officially moved into the director position at the start of July. Prior to his time in Munich, Hochedlinger held several commercial and operational roles at Austrian Bundesliga club LASK, including Senior Sales Manager, Team Manager, and Press Officer. Alongside his work in football, he remains a partner in the Austrian agencies Die Werbungsmacher and Gründberg Immobilien.
Søren Hanghøj Kristensen to join Brøndby IF
Søren Hanghøj Kristensen has been appointed Director of Communications at Brøndby IF, starting 4 August 2025. He brings a strong background in journalism, public affairs, and strategic communications. Kristensen spent nearly eight years at B.T., including three years as Editorial Director and Sports Director, and has held additional roles at Radio24syv and Tipsbladet. He also previously served as Media Manager at the Divisionsforeningen / Danish League. Most recently, he was Senior Advisor at the communications agency Help and previously headed the press and communications department at the Danish Ministry of Social Affairs.
Joppe Merchiers promoted at Beerschot
Joppe Merchiers has been appointed as the new Commercial Director at Belgian club Beerschot. After serving as Commercial Manager for the past four years, this step marks both a natural progression in his own career and a key move in the club’s continued off-pitch professionalisation. In his new role, Merchiers will take overarching responsibility for sponsorship, hospitality, retail, and fan experience. His focus will be on long-term partnerships, strategic growth, and strengthening Beerschot’s commercial capabilities.
Andreas Kluy takes on new role at VfL Bochum
Andreas Kluy has officially been appointed Director of Marketing & Sales at VfL Bochum 1848, effective retroactively from 1 July. He had already been leading the department on an interim basis following the departure of Tim Jost in late 2024. Kluy has been with the club since 2011 in various roles and was selected for the position following a competitive process involving several external candidates. His appointment reflects the club’s focus on continuity and experience as it continues on a path of commercial growth.
Marcin Janicki joins ŁKS Łódź
Marcin Janicki has taken over as President of the Board at ŁKS Łódź S.A., effective 1 July 2025. With a long-standing career in Polish football administration, he previously held executive roles at Pierwsza Liga Piłkarska, including six years as President of the Board, and continues to serve on the Management Board of the Polish Football Association (PZPN). Janicki also brings board-level experience from GKS Katowice, TAURON GKS Katowice, and Warta Poznań, among others. His appointment strengthens the club’s leadership as it aims to advance its organisational and sporting development.
Alexei Dozortsev departs Aris Limassol
Alexei Dozortsev has concluded his role as Chief Marketing Officer at Aris Limassol FC, where he spent four years helping to build the club’s brand into one of the most prominent in Cypriot football. During his tenure, Aris established a distinctive identity both on and off the pitch, earning recognition for its innovative approach. Prior to joining Aris in 2021, Dozortsev held senior marketing and media roles in the iGaming sector as well as in broadcasting and creative media.
David Chaplin promoted at West Ham United
David Chaplin has been promoted to Director of Marketing Strategy at West Ham United FC. He has been with the club since 2014 in various roles, most recently as Head of Marketing Operations & Projects. Prior to his return to West Ham in 2022, Chaplin held commercial roles at Brentford FC, Wigan Athletic and STADIMAX Group.
