Weekly Careers Update #23/2025

This week’s update includes a mix of internal promotions and international appointments, reflecting how clubs continue to strengthen their structures across key business areas. From communications and operations to marketing and development, the new roles span a wide range of responsibilities.

Franziska Kipper-Schreyer joins TSG Hoffenheim
Franziska Kipper-Schreyer will take over as Managing Director Communications at TSG Hoffenheim on 1 August 2025. In her new role, she will oversee all internal and external communications, including digital channels and publications, with a focus on strategic positioning and brand communication. She most recently led global communications at Freudenberg Home & Cleaning Solutions and also runs her own consultancy for communication and coaching. Earlier in her career, she spent nearly ten years as Head of Corporate Communication at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, following roles at Gruner + Jahr and Breuninger.

Francesco Calvo joins Aston Villa
Aston Villa has appointed Francesco Calvo as President of Business Operations, starting in July 2025. He joins from Juventus, where he most recently served as Managing Director Revenue & Institutional Relations. Over the past decade, he held senior leadership roles at Juventus, AS Roma, FC Barcelona and BasicNet. Calvo brings extensive experience in revenue strategy, governance, and international football relations. He succeeds Chris Heck.

Tim Slot promoted at AFC Ajax
Tim Slot has been appointed Head of Marketing at AFC Ajax. In his new role, he is responsible for brand, creation, e-commerce and overall marketing activities at the club. He joined Ajax in 2021 as a Marketeer and previously worked at Triple Double sportmarketing in Eindhoven.

Daniela Bauer joins SK Rapid
Daniela Bauer will take over as Managing Director Business at SK Rapid on 1 September 2025. She is currently Global Head of Partnerships at Allianz, where she led key initiatives including the FC Bayern partnership and the Allianz Family of Stadiums. Bauer previously held senior roles at Bundesliga International, Red Bull Media House and News Corp Australia. A former FIS World Cup freestyle skier, she brings strong international expertise in sponsorship, marketing and sports business leadership.

Job Heyms promoted at AFC Ajax
Job Heyms has been appointed Head of Business Development at AFC Ajax. He joined the club in 2021 and previously worked as Business Development Manager. In his new role, he focuses on strategic growth initiatives and commercial development.

Chris Pehlivanis joins Al Ain Club
Chris Pehlivanis has started as Chief Operating Officer at Al Ain Club in the United Arab Emirates. He previously served as CEO of Football Victoria and Western United FC, and held senior finance roles at Essendon Football Club and Football Australia. With over a decade of leadership experience in Australian football, he now oversees operations at one of the region’s most established clubs. In his new role, he will focus on operational excellence, innovation and sustainable growth on and off the pitch.

Damien Comolli joins Juventus
Damien Comolli has been appointed General Manager at Juventus, starting 4 June 2025. He brings over 30 years of leadership experience in European football, having held senior roles at Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool, Fenerbahce and most recently Toulouse, where he oversaw promotion to Ligue 1 and a Coupe de France title. At Juventus, he will oversee men’s football operations as well as the marketing and commercial departments, reporting directly to CEO Maurizio Scanavino.
