Philipp Liesenfeld promoted at 1. FC Köln
Philipp Liesenfeld has been appointed as Managing Director for Marketing and Sales at 1. FC Köln. He has been with the club since 2012 and has held various roles in marketing. From 2017, he led the club’s corporate development area, first in a staff unit and later as department head, contributing to the development and implementation of the club’s strategy. His responsibilities included major projects such as the “Innovation Game” and the initial development of the club’s internationalisation strategy. Since 2022, he has overseen B2C marketing, covering merchandising, ticketing, membership, and sales.
Tobias Keller leaves VfB Stuttgart and moves to SV Wehen Wiesbaden
Tobias Keller will leave his role as Director of Finance at VfB Stuttgart at the end of June 2025 to join SV Wehen Wiesbaden as Managing Director. In his new role, he will take overall responsibility for the club’s strategic and operational development, working alongside Paul Specht and Uwe Stöver. The 35-year-old will focus on driving the club’s business strategy, financial stability, and growth initiatives, with the aim of establishing the team in the 2. Bundesliga. Keller brings extensive experience from his time at VfB Stuttgart, where he led finance and strategy, and from his previous work at the Boston Consulting Group.
Mark Noonan to leave Canadian Premier League and Canadian Soccer Business
Mark Noonan will step down as Commissioner of the Canadian Premier League and CEO of Canadian Soccer Business effective June 30, 2025. He will remain in his role until then to ensure a smooth transition to his successor, after which he will continue to support the CPL and CSB as a senior advisor on strategic projects. Noonan has led the CPL and CSB since August 2022, overseeing key developments including annual double-digit growth in attendance and revenues, the introduction of the Canadian Premier League Shield, and the implementation of the Exceptional Young Talent rule.
Vegard Storvik appointed CEO at Molde FK
Vegard Storvik has been appointed as the new CEO of Molde FK. Storvik, a civil engineer with a background in construction and environmental technology, has spent his career in project management. He was founder and CEO of the project company XPRO, which was sold to Advansia in 2022, where he then worked as Project Director. Over the past year, he led the new stadium project for Bodø/Glimt and was involved in Molde FK’s new training facility. In addition to his new role, Storvik will continue to oversee the Bodø/Glimt stadium project.
