New roles, new directions: This week’s update highlights career moves across clubs, federations, and football organisations in Europe and beyond. From executive appointments to international transitions, the business side of football continues to evolve with each step.

Asmahan Gamgami joins TSG Hoffenheim
Asmahan Gamgami will join TSG Hoffenheim as part of the executive leadership team, taking over the newly created People & Culture department from May 1. In her new role, she will focus on strengthening the club’s commitment to diversity, equality, inclusion, and a modern workplace culture. Gamgami brings extensive experience in these areas, having previously served as Global Diversity Manager at OBI Group Holding. With her background in advising individuals and organisations on inclusive work environments and social responsibility, she is expected to help develop forward-looking structures within the club.

Jonathan Martinez promoted at CONCACAF
Jonathan Martinez has been promoted to Director of Football Development & Club Licensing at CONCACAF. He has been with the organization since 2012, holding several senior roles in club licensing and football development, most recently as Head of Professional Football Development. His new role builds on over a decade of experience in the region’s football governance and development structures.

Vinai Venkatesham joins Tottenham Hotspur
Vinai Venkatesham has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Tottenham Hotspur, with the role set to begin this summer. He spent over a decade at Arsenal, where he became CEO in 2020, overseeing major organisational changes and a return to Champions League contention. Beyond football, Venkatesham has also been involved with the London 2012 Olympics and serves as a non-executive director at the British Olympic Association.

Bernardo Paixão da Costa leaves Liga Portugal
After nearly three seasons with Liga Portugal, Bernardo Paixão da Costa has announced his departure from the organisation. He most recently served as Business Development & Internationalization Manager and previously held a role in the Events and Activations team. During his time at the league, he contributed to key projects such as Liga Portugal Legends and Liga Portugal Youth, supporting their development from initial concept to implementation. Paixão da Costa looks ahead to new professional challenges following his departure.

Gianmarco Pino promoted at Juventus FC
Gianmarco Pino has been promoted to Head of Brand at Juventus FC. He joined the club in November 2022 and previously held the role of Brand Manager. Prior to his move to Turin, he gained several years of experience in brand management at PepsiCo. His new role reflects a continued focus on strengthening the club’s global brand presence.

James Holroyd joins Burnley FC
James Holroyd has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Burnley FC. He brings more than 20 years of experience in brand, commercial, and operational leadership, having held senior roles at Manchester United and adidas. At Burnley, Holroyd will focus on driving the club’s long-term growth strategy, strengthening its global brand and commercial performance. His appointment marks a strategic move as the club continues its development both on and off the pitch.
